NOVEMBER 23, 2015
On November 21, 2015, the Ohio County’s Sheriff’s Office received information from the Evansville Police Department that two subjects had been arrested in Evansville with a large amount of suspected stolen property. The property was inventoried and items came back to victims of recent car break-ins and other thefts in Ohio County. The Hartford Police Department, Kentucky State Police and the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office are investigating over a dozen burglaries, a vehicle theft, and a recovered stolen vehicle that have occurred in the county. These crimes do appear related; however, the matter is still under investigation. The suspects are currently in custody in Vanderburg County Jail on unrelated charges. The Sheriff’s Office will file charges today at the county attorney’s office relating to the crimes that were committed in Ohio County.
